How Dapp Developers Can Optimize Their Product Page on DappRadar

Robert Hoogendoorn

You can have a great product, but without strong marketing efforts your work will be lost in the noise. Therefore it’s important to stand out from the crowd, and you can do this by having a clear communication about your product throughout social media, on your own website, and of course on platforms where you distribute your project. That’s where DappRadar comes into play.

DappRadar is one of the top-rated websites in Web3, and listing your project on DappRadar makes it easier for Web3 enthusiasts to find you. Simply by listing your project on DappRadar, it can appear in the Rankings, on the Narrative pages, and on Chain pages. In addition, your dapp information can be distributed to clients and partners using our API. Moreover, of course your project will have its own page. This page will have a good SEO rating, and links to your social media and official website.

Every month, these project pages attract hundreds of thousands of users who are keen to learn about your app. Since its launch in 2018, DappRadar has grown to become the premier discovery platform for Web3 users. We support 85+ blockchain ecosystems, and allow projects to list in any category. This means you find DeFi applications, but also cutting-edge games and revolutionary new genres, such as SocialFi, DeFAI and GameFi.

As a dapp developer, you want your project to stand out from the crowd. This starts with taking your marketing seriously. List your project on DappRadar, and keep the project page updated as your project develops. This will then allow users to find your dapp, favorite it, boost it using their RADAR tokens, or they will engage and give your project a try.

Some things to know in advance

Contrary to popular belief, we want developers to take ownership and responsibility over their project listings on DappRadar. Of course we can add projects to our system ourselves, but much rather we’d see developers claim ownership. This allows developers to manage their screenshots, product description and even logo. This will not only result in better findability, but also means that developers can make their project listing on DappRadar part of a bigger marketing plan. Think about a Christmas or Valentine’s version of their logo, shown on DappRadar.

Before you list your project on DappRadar, go through these steps:

  1. Make an account on the Developer Dashboard. This is a requirement to be able to list new dapps or manage existing ones.
  2. Check DappRadar and find out whether your project is already listed by the DappRadar community. If that’s the case, you can claim your dapp’s project page by pressing the “Claim dapp” button.
  3. Already established accounts trying to claim their second or third dapp will need to contact our team at developers@dappradar.com
  4. Before submitting a dapp, make sure ad blockers are disabled. Ad blockers can potentially block the submission. In order to prevent frustration, first, write your description and other information in a Word document. Whenever your submission fails, you will not have lost your text.

Now, with that out of the way. Let’s go!

Adding a new Dapp to DappRadar

Now let’s add your project to DappRadar. In the Developer Dashboard, press the “Submit Dapp” button. A form will show.

Dapp name

Write the name of your dapp.
✅ Please use correct spacing and capital letters, for example DappRadar, and not dApprader.
❌ Do not add marketing messaging in your dapp name, i.e. “Click Farmer: Win $100 every day”
❌ Do not add product category or tags into the project name, i.e. “RandomSwap DEX Lending and Borrowing”

Category

Choose the primary product category for your project.
❌ The Sandbox is a “game”, but it also features token staking. However, primarily it’s still a game, and not a DeFi product.

Website

The URL to your dapp, either a traditional website or IPFS address.
❌ No links to other third-party distribution website, such as Steam, Epic Games or Google Play Store. We have a separate field for that, directly linking to these other distribution platforms.

Short description

Write a short product description with some marketing power.
✅ Use some keywords that are super relevant to your project.
✅ Be descriptive and cover the essentials of your project.
❌ Do not rely solely on slogans

Tags

Select up to 5 tags, which will allow users to find your project easier.
✅ Select tags that are 100% relevant to your project.
❌ Do not pick tags because they are popular, even though they don’t fit your project.
❌ You’re allowed up to 5 tags, but you don’t need 5 tags. When you’re done, you’re done.
❌ Don’t make the tags the same as your Category.

Add smart contracts

Provide the smart contract addresses across chains you support. Place the smart contracts under the correct chain tab, and provide one contract per line.

Full description

You’ve got up to 2,000 characters to describe your dapp. Use the space given to you to explain what the dapp is about, and how it can serve the end user. “A decentralized token exchange on BNB Chain” will not convince anybody to give your dapp a try. Instead focus on uniqueness, service, and user convenience.
✅ Highlight product features and user benefits
✅ Update the description whenever you have major product updates
❌ Don’t post a short description, and then think you’re done forever. Update. Iterate.

DappRadar tips

Here are some extra tips for optimizing your product page on DappRadar.

Content

Address to the user and make it personal. Developers can also use the description section to highlight one or two moments on their roadmap, for example, “November 20 – closed beta release”.

Also important, use the keywords associated with your dapp. This will improve the findability of your dapp on DappRadar and on Google, Bing and ChatGPT. For example, as a DeFi dapp, you might want to talk about ‘crypto lending’ and ‘staking on Avalanche’.

Social media

We advise developers to provide as many of their social media accounts as possible. It allows DappRadar visitors to get in touch with your community swiftly.

Media

Add visually pleasing screenshots. Make the screenshots about the dapp and don’t insert graphs from your whitepaper, for example. Use images that really promote your dapp, fit the required size, and are tailored to the purpose.

At the moment, you can add only 1 trailer. We advise you to showcase a product demo, to give users an idea of how the product works. A high-quality trailer video can work miracles, and a complete walkthrough is often appreciated by the community.

Updates

DappRadar advises developers to update their dapp pages on a regular basis. For example, after every major product update, it could make sense to quickly update the following:

  1. Product description;
  2. Screenshots;
  3. Trailer.
