What is My Neighbor Alice
My Neighbor Alice is a multiplayer blockchain game in which players socialize with NPC characters and player characters, build their virtual life and complete all kinds of tasks. You could say that My Neighbor Alice is like Animal Crossing meets Stardew Valley. Players can also buy virtual islands to build their own customizable paradise.
My Neighbor Alice uses Chromia for its blockchain technology. The game utilizes NFTs, for example for item or land ownership. In addition, the game has a token called $ALICE, which players can use in the game. However, gamers also earn $BJORN, which is the secondary token used for all in-game actions.

How to start playing My Neighbor Alice

- You will now start the process to make an account, pick a username, and connect a wallet. You may even receive a gift.
- With your account live, the adventure really begins: trading, fishing, crafting and much more.
3 Ways to have your own land
The standard adventure already offers lots of fun, but you can add more depth to your experience by investing in virtual land. Once you own one of the 100,000 land parcels, the Lummelunda archipelago offers access to more features. There are three ways to get access to land:
- Depending on some promotional campaigns, you may be able to claim a free Trial Land.
- You can buy land NFTs through the marketplace. The cheapest ones now cost 379 ALICE, or $147.
- The third and final option is to share land. Land owners can allow other players to be active on their land.
Earning $BJORN from Oli
While My Neighbor Alice has the $ALICE token as their governance token, the ecosystem utilizes $BJORN – named after that cute bear – for their in-game activities. Players need $BJORN for crafting, trading, shopping, certain services etc. You can earn $BJORN by completing quests.
Land owners (see the requirements above) will unlock an NPC named Oli, during the tutorial. This NPC will appear on each land parcel, and offers quests for players to complete. These quests earn you $BJORN, and having multiple land parcels will increase your earning potential.
Players can talk to Oli and get access to:
- Free $BJORN
- Daily quests to complete (which also earn you $BJORN)
- The ability to build buildings, which unlock specialized quests with even more $BJORN rewards. Think about a fishing hut, or a worker’s shed.
The interesting thing is that upgrades and repairs to your buildings aren’t done with $BJORN, instead you will need to pay $ALICE for that. Each completed quest will cost some building durability, and when durability reaches zero you won’t get any quests anymore. You will have to repair the building to be able to get new quests.
Crafting sometimes requires $ALICE
Crafting is a big part of the My Neighbor Alice experience, as it’s also the foundation for trading. Players can craft clothes, furniture, but also working tools or food. Blueprints allow you to make items with unlimited usage, while tickets allow for one-time only consumables.
These crafted items are NFTs. Some of these NFTs only require resources you can find in the game. However, some items may also require $ALICE. When you craft an item with $ALICE, the crypto tokens get locked up in the NFT. This means that when you destroy the game item, you will get your $ALICE back.
NFTs with locked $ALICE may sometimes be staked. This will then allow the item owners to earn some extra $ALICE.
How to get $ALICE
There aren’t many ways to earn $ALICE, and it’s best to simply buy the token through one of the methods mentioned below. However, in the Rewards section on the official website there may be some quests or tasks which can reward you with $ALICE. In addition, you can get $ALICE through the following methods:
