About AlgoSeas
Yer the cap’n of yer ship. Ye can hire as many pirates as ye’d like to join yer crew. However, ye can only take up to four pirates out to sea at a time. Additionally, ye must have at least one other crew member on board to help ye set sail. After all, what good’s a cap’n without a crew?
AlgoSeas can be played with one, two, three, or four crew members. Getting your first crew member will cost you some $DUB. After you have at least one crew member, you can earn more $DUB by playing the game.
Each pirate comes with four skills: Combat, Constitution, Plunder, and Luck. Each skill can have a value from 0 to 100. When the pirate is minted, each skill is generated by taking a random sample from a normal distribution that has a mean of 50 and a standard deviation of 15. This means that the majority of skills will have values that fall between 35 and 65.
AlgoSeas is primarily an idle game. After choosing your crew, your crew will head out to sea. You can influence your crew’s actions by adjusting two parameters. The first is the doubloon threshold that must be obtained before your crew returns home. The second is the infamy threshold that enemy pirate ships must have before your crew will attack them.
AlgoSeas runs on a global tick system that ticks every seven and a half minutes. Check in often to see what happened to your pirates while you were away!
The Pirate King is a name given to the player who has secured the most doubloons over the last 24 hours. At the end of their reign, the Pirate King is currently paid out 18% of all ALGO generated by the AlgoSeas Game and Marketplace. The Pirate King is calculated once a day at 12:00 AM UTC.
