Decentralized Telecommunication Operator (DTO) — a distributed, open, and scalable system of numbering, based on Ethereum blockchain.

DTO’s job is to match numeric combinations, such as DTO1234567890, and machine-readable identifiers, such as Ethereum addresses and metadata.  DTO has the same purpose as regular phone numbers, a phone number prefix service, but it has a significantly different architecture due to the features and limitations of Ethereum blockchain. Similar to phone numbers, DTO operates in the system of (prefix)+(phone number) called number ranges, at the same time, a prefix owner is in full control of a number range pricing.

DTO telephone prefixes use non-fungible tokens to provide a unique identifier. You will be able to buy and sell a phone number by transferring or selling your NFT. Wallet addresses and other information come with a token, which a holder is in full control of. Capitalized prefixes, such as DTO, belong to a smart contract called Registrar which controls the creation of number ranges.
