Proof of Drill is an on-chain geopolitical strategy game and experimental resource economy deployed on Ethereum. In this ecosystem, value is measured through three distinct states of matter: Crude OIL, Refined OIL, and High-Octane FUEL.

The protocol begins at the wellhead: players mint limited-supply “Barrel NFTs” (capped at 100,000) that passively extract liquid $OIL tokens over a mathematically decaying 120-day lifespan. Once extracted, players face a strategic choice—trade their $OIL on the open market or stake it in the Alpha Refinery to refine it into $FUEL.

While $OIL is the liquid lifeblood of the economy, $FUEL is soulbound ammunition. Players who refine $FUEL gain access to the decentralized War Room and Cartel Registry. Here, the game transitions from passive yield farming into ruthless Player-vs-Player (PvP) market manipulation. Using $FUEL, participants can establish Global Cartels, recruit delegates to pool their Refined OIL weight, and vie for absolute dominance.

The ultimate prize is market control: if a Cartel leader amasses more than 5% of the total Refined OIL supply, they can activate “Global Throttling”—a punishing protocol-wide tax mechanism. While active, every single $OIL transfer outside of the Cartel’s vault is taxed at 5%, forcing competitors to either burn their assets or surrender a portion to the leading Cartel’s treasury.

Proof of Drill replaces standard DeFi staking mechanics with a game of intense resource extraction, supply chain warfare, and strategic dominance. It’s a race for the ultimate yield—by any means necessary.
